By educating people on the harmfulness of air pollutants, particularly particulate matter, people will begin to employ strategies to reduce their impact on air pollution.
I have just finished my master’s apprenticeship degree at Sheffield Hallam University and will be proceeding with my part 3 in the near future. My interests include the potential of retrofits as opposed to demolition and rebuilding and the sustainable benefits these can have. I am also very interested in urban planning of public spaces and how performances are encouraged by design.

Over 98% of Brussels residents currently live in conditions which do not meet these WHO targets. The Curieuzenair initiative undertaken by the Brussels Clean Air Partnership in 2021 allowed citizens of Brussels to pay a small fee for an air pollution testing kit. This gathered data on the most and least polluted areas of Brussels which lead to research on why these areas differed so greatly. This data is important to understand which methods can be employed to reduce this.
