Twice transformed in its history – with the Crystal Palace and later the UK’s first purpose-built sports centre – the park was reimagined for a “third act” in the post-pandemic era.
The proposal retrofitted the Grade II listed National Sports Centre into a hub for sport, dance and performance, softening its modernist form to blur boundaries with the park.
A regeneration workshop enabled participatory design, empowering communities as co-creators. Rooted in reuse, diversity and ecology, the project curated a new chapter for the park.
