Urban Food Lab

The Urban Food Lab is a dynamic, temporary structure located in the centre of Sheffield. It serves as a collaborative space where the university, local communities, and the blue-green network come together to create and experiment with regenerative food systems.

The building is designed to engage people
in every stage of this regenerative cycle—from growing their own produce and cooking with freshly harvested ingredients to sharing meals in a social and mindful setting.

It also functions as a research lab, enabling collaborative investigations into air, water, and soil pollution in Sheffield and its impact on urban food production.

This initiative not only generates stronger connections between the university and local communities but also creates an ongoing platform for sharing skills, knowledge, and sustainable practices.
