Year 6 Architecture (DA)

Sheffield Hallam University

Constructing a sustainable energy infrastructure through the evolution of ecological energy production, whilst strategically minimising the cost of living by locally generating electricity and establishing neighbourly distribution.

I have now been at Whittam Cox Architects for over 2 years. I’m currently working in the Morrison's team, delivering numerous Fresh Looks for a series of stores. Academically, I have just completed my Master's in Architecture, meaning I have overall done 6 years of university! In my spare time, I look after 100+ of my houseplants. Architecturally I’m interested in challenging ordinary standards by using the built form to resolve political and environmental issues, by creating meaningful spaces as a form of physical response. Further on in my career, I would like to develop in the area of dispute resolution and law surrounding the field of the built environment.

Potential Energy focuses on challenging the discipline of energy production, by scrutinising the common ‘sustainable’ forms of energy production. Furthermore, the project seeks to establish independent forms of energy generation by making it part of day-to-day activities and driving research to revolutionise existing processes.

Independence, cooperation, and innovation are just some of the outcomes of the project. However, the greater impact focuses on strategically minimising the cost of living by allowing communities to take charge of their energy production.
