Year 3 Architecture (BSc)

Sheffield Hallam University

A transparent space for the community to share experiences together.

I have just completed my undergraduate/Part I in architecture at Sheffield Hallam University, I continued working part-time throughout my final year which allowed me to develop and apply my skill sets to both my university and in practice work. I will be starting my master’s in architecture on the University of Sheffield’s Collaborative Practice course in September, where I will continue to work in practice alongside part-time study.

Outside of work and architecture I enjoy grow fruit and vegetables, running, hiking with friends and going to gigs.

The People's Parliament

The people’s parliament set out to create a space for the community in Leith to self-govern, meet, share ideas and display their skills ...

The central hub was designed to reference the historic skyline of Leith through the design of the ventilation chimneys, drawing reference from the historic industrial past of the port. Whereas the debating space references the outline of the former glass conical furnaces which historically sat close to the site.

Through retrofitting, the use of sustainable materials and increase in biodiversity the scheme proposes an environmentally conscious approach to the former brown field site of a car park and warehouse.
