Specifically, my academy was based around teaching students’ modern sustainable construction methods and materials that can be used in architecture, its main ideals were as follows; the reuse of parts of the existing buildings on the site (giving them new purpose), to make use of new sustainable materials in its design, and to create an environment which enables everyone to learn as effectively as possible.

These ideas would be reflected in the buildings design, with parts of the existing sustainability research labs being retained and retrofitted with new sustainable materials, leaving the building as a proof of concept for the ideals it would be teaching.
